April M. Silvaggio
Private Investigator & Client Information Coordinator with Silvaggio Investigations, LLC
An award-winning crime and courts reporter and investigative journalist, April Silvaggio spent the past two decades chasing news: presidential visits, the 9-11 attacks, the impact of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Susan Smith trial, a massive oil spill into the Reedy River, abuse of the homeless by city police and the still unsolved murder of Alice Haynesworth Ryan 20 years ago at her home near Greenville's Cleveland Park.Twice she served as a state media witness to executions of convicted killers. Her work has kept her close to the action and continuously digging for answers.
Through the years, she earned the respect of not only her colleagues, but those in Greenville's law enforcement and legal community with a reputation for being thorough, fair and accurate.
"I worked with April at The Greenville News and found her to be the most energetic and resourceful reporter I have ever known. She was able to get information from people and follow a paper trail like no one I've seen before or since. Later, when I was a pastor and April was a reporter for The Greenville Journal, I found that same professionalism and doggedness when she did stories about homelessness in Greenville. April is talented and fearless--a potent combination."
